At the beginning, I was proud to be learning from Dr. Myint Swe Khine and benefit from his experience and knowledge.    

What I learned during this course is phenomenal; in short period I learn to create educational blog contains my opinions and my experience in teaching job. The blog is creative way to express my previous knowledge and my new knowledge.

Writing a reflection support me to make a personal sense of teaching and learning process, when I write a reflection about what I learn I became more interesting to search and learn even more. In addition, I learned to reflect my own work and I benefited greatly. 

I learned to use and create a web quest, is very constructivist approach to learning. A web quest is creative way to allowing students to explore and find their own answer.   

I learned important techniques and theories, and how I can implemented them in my class .these techniques are useful and helpful in teaching process.   

I learned that Integrating technology in classrooms assist teachers an explanation of subjects in an easy way that help students to understand which leads to the student success and improving of their practical skills and develop order thinking skills.   

At the end, I enjoyed spending time writing in my blog, this blog is dedicated to teaching ICT subject.

What is ICT?

ICT stand for information communication technology. The ICT is to consider all the uses of technology in any field such as education field.  

ICT includes:

ICT in education:   

The teacher implementing ICT tools in teaching process to gat advantages from all the educational software.

On my opinion, the ICT software provide high quality that help students to develop their skills and knowledge base. Specially, the practical part, the students learn more through practice than the theory parts.  

I think that the student learns a lot through the use of technology software such as YouTube. This program provides tutorial video to help students understand the subject matter in addition to enjoy it.  

  

They are different types of education software; each program has specific features and special purpose in the educational process. Many education software designs accord to student's age and grade levels.     

The different types are:

Drill-and-practice: its increase the student's knowledge and skills through repetitive practice, in addition to get feedback immediately such as correct or wrong. 

Tutorial: it’s an educational program help students to gain knowledge and teach them by using example or supply information.

Simulation: it’s a real or hypothetical model design to teach students how the system work and it's useful in many field   such as physical or chemistry field.

  

Instructional Games: its design to engage the students in learning process.

In the end, technology is playing a key role in the education of students, technology is helping to increase the knowledge of the students and that students can learn on their own without the need for teacher to teach them but only to guild them .

Mind Tool

ICT AS MIND TOOLS
 

Mind tools concept can be advice or techniques used by the learners to focus on developing or adapted information and also used to analyses process such as database or spreadsheets or expert system or multimedia publishing tools or micro words or Visualization Tools.  

I used mind tool (inspiration) to create a sample diagram, contains multimedia software  

ICT as mind tools require users to be creative and to think on high order level, the mind tools makes the several information in ways that are easy to understand and process. Most students prefer to learn information in visually way.    

The tools mind makes the ideas and thoughts understandable and meaningful.

 

 

 

Do we need to use mind tools on our school?

Yes, mind tools techniques are very useful for both students and teachers. This tools can used by the teacher to complete a lesson can be covered through pictures and word by using for example multimedia program such as hyper studio. And the students can used mind tools to organize their thoughts .

Finally, I recommend using ICT as mind tools in our school, consider the most efficient   and effective ways to organize ideas and thoughts for students and teachers both. The mind tools simulating meaningful real word situations or problem.

 

Web Quest

In the beginning I wish you will see this video ,which explain the idea of what is the web quest in short way   

  

A Web Quest is an educational website is used by individuals to learn new information and acquires knowledge by reading the post. And these websites can be created by programs such as PowerPoint presentation and link it with hyperlink.  

Some of the web quest is design by the teachers to help the students by providing useful resources, tasks, 

helps references, solving steps and easy communications with teachers. This leads students to high order  

thinking skills and save time instead to waste on researching.  

In my opinion, that the use of this web may cause a challenge for students, if the student has a weakness in the technical skills may face difficulty accessing these web and take advantage of them .these sites are based on the internet, in the case of network outages would be impossible to enter it and this will be  

difficult for the learner.  

The important points must include in web 

quest:-  

  

·         introduction: must contain sample preview, weather explain the web quest idea or about the web quest owner or may be the reason for creating a web  quest.

·         Task: explain the used of tools and tasks must done by the learner.  

·         process: create a plan, solve equations, and find best solutions and included some references.   

·         evaluation: evaluate the goals and the proposed standards.     

·         conclusion: the ending or brief summary.

At the end, I think the education is changed since our days; technology helps education process to be more interesting and useful such as web quest.  

inquiry-based learning

                                What is inquiry-based learning?

The inquiry word mean seeking for information or facts or problems or knowledge's by asking questions and understanding the answers.

The inquiry process begins first by choosing the real problem and trying to find suitable solutions in every possible way, for example research , reading articles, as well as asking people with extensive knowledge.  

In this diagram, shows the implementation steps to clarify inquiry process. 

The different between the traditional approach and the inquiry approach ?

In my point view that in traditional approach , the teacher became the sources of information and the students is the receiving of this information.

In the inquiry approach is to focus more on the content of the learning and development of information processing and problem solving skills. This approach is to focus on students center learning.

I think, Inquiry classroom depends on motivating students to research and encouraged them to use technology and benefit from all resources provide by inside school and outside school.

At the end, the inquiry approach helps the students to became more interesting in learning process and they became    more involves in learning process .       

Student- centered learning

The student centered learning technique 

   

          

Student centered learning is a educational process where the student is the center of the learning process . In these process allows the students using their own ideas,  learning methods and gives them more control over the subject matter. 

The student plays the role of the teacher, which makes the student in a position of authority for decision-making and resolve difficulties that may face, and this power does not deny the presence of the teacher as a guide and mentor.    

I want to talk a little about the traditional teacher. Teacher centered learning is the teacher plays a key role in the traditional classroom, is to be responsible for the students and the surrounding environment. The teacher is the main source of information and transfer of information to students. And limited the role of students in this process to obtain the information. This method creates a state of boredom among students and in addition to that, it not teaches students how to cooperate and take responsibility.

I applied this technique in teaching by dividing students into groups ,each groups have different level of education, and students play the role of teacher which leads to exchange of information and be able take responsibilities.

In my opinion the teacher role in the Student centered learning technique, is that guides the students ,  gives advices , try to help them if they need help. 

The Student centered learning technique advantages. Is allow students choice self learning techniques , for example they can learn by using online website , library or learning from each other . The student will be the focus center of the class , decision maker , leadership and problem solving.

Another advantage that is also allows students choice their own teaching techniques , such as using smart board , work as group or work in pairs .      

These techniques provides opportunity for the students to gain knowledge , learns to takes responsibilities and duties and discovers the learn helps them to build their futures. 

The Student centered learning technique disadvantages. Are the students willing to bear the full responsibility and duties and also take full advantage of the time they have given and do not waste time talking about things beyond the topic of education. Sometimes the class room be noisy environment leads to fragmentation of mind and lack of focus is this loss of time students?  

In my point view , to solve this problem, they need to teach them about class room management , teach how to take advantage of the time and split time properly and not waste time.

The teacher benefits from the student centered learning, reduce responsibilities for the teacher, easy way to evaluate student work, became more of coach.

Disadvantages is the teacher must make sure students are understanding the lessons and be aware of student behavior.

At the end , I think use both techniques are useful and effective because we have different topics calls to different techniques. Teacher centered learning provides to the students experiences and knowledgeable . And student centered learning is fun and interesting techniques to learn. My own view is that all students to utilize and benefit  from both techniques.

Computer as Tool , Tutor and Tutee

Role of the computer in our daily lives

In the following post I will discuss three main important points of computers usages in our life and how its impact in education.

Computer allows the teacher to develop his teaching style and the professional skills. As the students benefit from the information available on the Internet.

Does computer tools has a great role in education? Let me explain, the computer tools such as Microsoft power point presentation assist the teacher to present lessons in interesting way and colorful interface which grabs the students attention.

Through the use of Microsoft power point presentation helped me in presenting my lessons to the students and it's an easy way to explain the subject matter.
Another example is the use of excel sheet, the teachers can use this sheet to enter students grades , students data and do some useful calculation.

Computer tutor teaches the students how to better is the use of computer programs that provide students with the necessary assistance in education to develop their skills.

Computer tutor provides the opportunity to Individuals to benefit from the tips and advice available in the programs.

For example, Arabic and English typing program ,teach the students how to use keyboard then evaluate the students work. And some of these programs provide feedback.

In my opinion, computer tutor are easy to access, always available over the Internet and easy to use with the correct guidance.

I personally used tutor program that taught me how to speak English by listening to Virtual characters in the program , in addition to daily practice. 

  The concept of computer tutee are to teach a computer through writing programming language such as java , visual basic ,C++ and PHP.

I used SQL database program in college to save all my data and I can retrieve it anytime.

I believe that writing using programming language needs a special skills and code knowledge to create a program correct and useful.

The advantage of using tutee program to save money and the time it take to research for required program.

Finally , new technology provide easy way to teach and learn ,also provides communication between the teachers and students.

And my advice is that every teacher and student has to benefit from it.
